Corporate Christmas Decorations Concept & Styling Rainy Sunday
Christmas is a great time of year to be a stylist. At Rainy Sunday we love adding festive cheer to corporate offices and private homes around Sydney at Christmas time.
The team at LinkedIn Australia approached us to add corporate Corporate Christmas decorations to their main reception area and cafe. They were happy to hand the creative reins to us to come up with the style and look for their Christmas decorations.
Our team took inspiration from the incredible Indigenous artwork by Ryhia Dank (Nardurma) painted on the walls of the reception area. We used the artwork colours for our Christmas tree palette. This meant the tree and decorations complimented the space and didn’t compete with it.
The Christmas tree decorations we chose had lots of different textures and styles. Think velvet baubles and glitter Poinsettia. We also included faux Australian native flowers like Banksia. Again, this was another nod to Ryhia’s artwork.
To compliment the tree and add more volume to the space. We wrapped and decorated over 60 gift boxes in all shapes and sizes.. The boxes were a great way to add height around the tree and dress other areas in the reception.

Corporate Christmas Decorations Q&A
Question: How do you design and plan Corporate Christmas decorations?
Short answer: Our design team at Rainy Sunday start by walking through the space. We will look for things to inspire us. Things like the style of the space, the decor colours and how the space is used. Looking at these things we will come up with a festive style and colour palette that will fit into the overall space. You need a style that will enhance the space and not look out of place.
Questions: What is the best way to decorate a Christmas tree?
Short answer: Our approach is to work in festive layers. Start with the first layer of decorations deep and close to the tree trunk. Then add more Christmas decorations layers as you progress out along the branches to the tree tips. Using this approach allows you to easily add different textures and colours in each layer. We would recommend two or three different types of Christmas decoration in each layer. The end result will be a beautifully decorated Christmas tree that looks full, but not over done with lots of texture and style.
