As a top corporate event styling team, we pride ourselves on working to any brief – no mater the style. Our relationship with James Hardie is now into it’s 4th year and each styling brief requires us to come up with new ways to execute their style. It needs to look fresh and modern, without re-hasing old ideas from past events.
Environment Led Styling.
For this year’s Modern Forecast event we let the event space form the foundation of our styling approach. It was at The Caylx in Sydney’s Botanical Gardens. The space is home to a spectacular indoor greenhouse garden, which is flanked by a stunning curved event space.
We used the curve of the space to inform a floor plan that featured a series of curved tables. We could have gone with standard long tables, but curved tables looked more harmonious to the space. The use of curves was also a nod to a growing interiors trend in the modern farmhouse use this style more. This direction also aligned with the clients brand and the home trends they were showcasing at the event.
Our styling team always reviews the event’s design concept as it evolves from creative idea to execution. This is how we maintain brand alignment with each execution touch-point.
The Influence of Colour in Corporate Event Styling.
For the overall event colour palette, we took our cues from the surrounding garden. Again this was an intentional choice lead by the environment of the event space.
Layering a Tablescape for Guest Engagement.
For the tablescape we layered warm textures and decorative elements with a modern farmhouse look. The textures included obvious things like meadow flowers in glass jugs, delivering on the modern farmhouse theme. It also included unusual textures like walnuts and plums, styled organically – a signature tablescape styling technique we’ve known for.
Often top corporate event styling can look very rigid and uninteresting. By combining the curved tables with soft layered elements, we were able to deliver an elevated look that felt harmonious with the space.
